You should now see the Avast User Interface.Ģ – Click the Menu icon located in the top-right corner of the window, then select Settings from the drop-down menu.ģ – Make sure the “General” tab is selected, then uncheck the box beside Enable Avast email signature.ĥ – Click the Customize link on the “Mail Shield” line.ħ – Find the line that says Insert note into clean message (outgoing). Simply follow these steps:ġ – Double-click the Avast icon that’s located in the system tray (at the bottom-right corner of the screen). Luckily, it’s very easy to prevent Avast from adding their signature line to your outgoing emails. It really is an outstanding antivirus product! Rick’s answer: Adam, I’ve been using Avast for several years and I frequently recommend it in my blog posts. I actually don’t mind the ad in my personal emails since Avast allows me to use their software for free, but I don’t like them showing up in my business emails. I was just tipped off by one of my customers that Avast is placing what is essentially an ad promoting their software into the footer of my outgoing emails.
